The Merit Network Telescope (merit-nt) signal, which measures backscatter traffic as a proxy for aggregate connectivity, showed an 80% drop from its peak value during the event. The signal’s median value fell to 91.8 from a typical average of 359.36.

Other core internet signals showed minimal deviation. Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) announcements, which reflect routing control plane stability, remained consistent. Active probing for IPv4 reachability (ping-slash24) also showed only a 1% decline, indicating the event’s primary impact was on data plane traffic rather than network availability.
