Colombia registered a two-hour disruption to its Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane in the early hours of Friday, August 14. The event began at 00:25 UTC and concluded by 02:25 UTC, with a peak severity score of 770.

Technical Details

The disruption was isolated to the BGP signal, which measures the visibility of network routing announcements on the global internet. The BGP median prefix count dropped by 6% from its peak during the event. Other key internet health signals, including active probing for IPv4 reachability and traffic volume forecasts, showed no significant concurrent degradation.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.
