Côte d’Ivoire Experiences Connectivity Degradation
Côte d’Ivoire experienced a significant degradation in internet connectivity beginning early Friday, June 20, 2026. The disruption lasted approximately 3.7 hours, starting at 00:50 UTC and ending by 04:30 UTC. The primary technical impact was a sharp drop in network reachability across the country.
Technical Details
The event registered a severity score of 4,457. The most affected metric was the ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 network prefixes. This signal showed a 14% drop in median reachability from its peak during the event window.
Other signals also showed deviations. The gtr.sarima signal, which forecasts deviations from expected traffic baselines, recorded a 69% drop from its peak. The merit-nt signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity, fell by 53% from its peak. The BGP control plane signal, which tracks the visibility of network prefixes, remained stable throughout the event.
The cause has not been publicly attributed.
Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation period.
