Venezuela experienced a significant internet connectivity disruption late Tuesday, lasting over two hours. The event began at 22:10 UTC on June 24 and concluded by 00:30 UTC on June 25. The primary technical impact was a sharp reduction in network reachability across the country.

Technical Details

The disruption was most pronounced in the ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes. This signal recorded a severity score of 4,426, with a measured drop in reachability of 33% from its peak. The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane signal, which reflects routing visibility for Venezuelan prefixes, showed a 31% decline. The gtr-norm signal, a forecast deviation from expected traffic baselines, fell by 20%. The merit-nt signal, a backscatter measurement that serves as an aggregate connectivity proxy, recorded the most severe drop at 82%.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation window.
