The primary impact was observed on the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) signal, which registers the visibility of network routing prefixes.

Technical Details

The disruption registered a severity score of 159, with the BGP signal showing a measurable drop in visible prefixes. The BGP signal measures the control plane visibility of a country’s announced IP address blocks. A concurrent, though less severe, drop was recorded in the ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across active IPv4 network blocks. The cause has not been publicly attributed.
