Tunisia experienced a brief but notable disruption to its internet control plane on Monday, July 21, 2026. The event, which lasted approximately 40 minutes, was characterized by a degradation in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) visibility, a key signal for network routing stability.

Technical Details

The disruption occurred between 13:15 and 13:55 UTC. The primary affected metric was the BGP median signal, which registered a severity score of 67. This signal measures the visibility of network routing prefixes in the global control plane, where a drop can indicate a reduction in advertised routes.

Concurrently, other network health indicators showed minor deviations. Active probing for IPv4 reachability across /24 prefixes recorded a 14% drop from its peak during the observation window. A separate traffic volume forecast model, gtr-norm, showed a more significant 75% deviation from its expected baseline. The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation period.
