The disruption began on July 15 and remained ongoing at the final observation point on July 22. The event registered a severity score of 124,716, with the primary impact recorded on the BGP median signal.
Technical Details
The disruption period spanned from approximately 22:00 UTC on July 15 to 00:30 UTC on July 22. The BGP median signal, which measures the stability and visibility of network routing announcements, was the principal metric affected. While the BGP prefix count remained largely stable, the median signal’s deviation indicates a significant control plane anomaly. Other network health indicators, including active probing reachability (ping-slash24) and traffic volume forecasts (gtr.sarima), showed lesser concurrent deviations during the extended observation window.
The cause has not been publicly attributed.
