The connectivity degradation began at 03:50 UTC and concluded by 04:30 UTC. The primary affected metric was the ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 network prefixes. This signal recorded a severity score of 1,027, with a measured drop in reachability of 76% from its peak during the observation period.
Other network signals showed varied impacts. The merit-nt signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity based on backscatter measurements, showed a 79% drop from its peak. The gtr-norm signal, indicating deviation from an expected traffic baseline, fell by 41%. The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane, which manages routing information between networks, showed minimal change, indicating no widespread withdrawal of network prefixes.
