The primary impact was recorded on the BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) control plane signal, which measures the visibility of network prefixes to the global internet. The signal’s median value remained at a constant low level of 194 visible prefixes throughout the event, indicating a sustained reduction in advertised routes.

Concurrently, the Merit Network Telescope (merit-nt) signal, a proxy for aggregate internet connectivity, dropped to zero, representing a 100% decline from its peak. Active probing for ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes (ping-slash24) showed a 14% reduction. The normalized traffic volume (gtr-norm) signal also registered a significant drop of 75% from its expected baseline.
