The event registered a severity score of 16. The primary affected signal was BGP, which measures the stability and visibility of routing announcements for the country’s internet prefixes. A concurrent, though less severe, drop was observed in the Merit Network Telescope (merit-nt) signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity based on backscatter traffic, which fell 46% from its peak. The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 network blocks, showed a 7% drop in reachable prefixes. The cause has not been publicly attributed.
