Mauritius experienced a brief degradation in internet connectivity early on September 3, 2026. The disruption, centered on a drop in network reachability, lasted approximately 30 minutes, starting around 04:40 UTC. The event registered a severity score of 714 based on observed network performance metrics.

Technical Details

The primary affected signal was ping-slash24, which measures the reachability of Mauritian IPv4 network prefixes using ICMP probes. This metric recorded a 24% drop from its peak value during the observation period. The control plane, monitored via BGP announcements, remained stable with no observed withdrawal of network prefixes. Other traffic and connectivity metrics, including backscatter measurements, also showed concurrent deviations during the event window.

The cause has not been publicly attributed. Connectivity was reported restored by 05:10 UTC.
