The disruption was most pronounced in the ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across the country’s IPv4 address space. This metric recorded a severity score of 3,051, indicating a substantial drop in active probe responses. Concurrently, the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane signal, which tracks the visibility of network prefixes, showed a severity score of 731, reflecting a reduction in advertised routes.
Other measurement signals corroborated the event. The gtr-norm signal, a normalized traffic volume indicator, fell by approximately 50% from its peak. The merit-nt signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity based on backscatter analysis, also showed a 44% decline during the event window. Connectivity was reported restored by 12:30 UTC.
