Côte d’Ivoire experienced a significant, multi-day degradation in internet connectivity beginning on August 4. The disruption, which lasted for approximately nine days, primarily impacted the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and network reachability measurements. Connectivity was reported restored by the early hours of August 13 UTC.

Technical Details

The disruption began around 01:10 UTC on August 4 and persisted until 00:30 UTC on August 13. The event registered a severity score of 111,145,166,257 across affected measurement signals.

The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 network prefixes, recorded a severity score of 543,029 and showed a 10% drop from its peak value. The BGP signal, which reflects the visibility of network prefixes in the global routing table, recorded a severity score of 204,676. Backscatter measurements, an aggregate proxy for connectivity, showed a 29% drop from peak levels during the observation period.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored at the end of the observation window.
