French Polynesia experienced a prolonged degradation in internet connectivity beginning on July 21, with the primary disruption lasting for nearly 11 days. The event, which concluded around 00:30 UTC on August 1, was characterized by a significant impact on the network’s control plane visibility.

Technical Details

The disruption recorded a severity score of 19,053. The affected bgp signal, which measures the stability of routing announcements for network prefixes, showed a sustained anomaly throughout the event period. Other measurement signals, including active probing for IPv4 reachability and backscatter traffic analysis, showed less pronounced deviations during the observation window.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored at the end of the observation period.
