Technical Details
The disruption registered an overall severity score of 38,887,884. The Merit Network Telescope (merit-nt) signal, a proxy for aggregate network connectivity derived from backscatter traffic, recorded a severity score of 12,578. Its median value dropped by 89% from its peak during the event. Concurrently, the ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across sampled IPv4 /24 network prefixes, recorded a severity score of 3,092 and saw a 25% drop in its median reachability. The gtr-norm signal, representing normalized traffic volume deviation from a forecast baseline, also showed a 34% drop from its peak value. The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane signal remained stable throughout the period, showing no observable drop.
