Côte d’Ivoire experienced a significant internet connectivity disruption in the early hours of July 1, 2026. The event began at 00:40 UTC and persisted for approximately 3.8 hours, ending around 04:30 UTC. The primary technical indicator, measuring ICMP reachability across IPv4 networks, recorded a severity score of 4,893.

Technical Details

The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes, showed a 42% drop from its peak value during the event. The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane signal, indicating routing visibility, saw a smaller 6% decline. The gtr-norm signal, representing a forecast deviation from expected traffic baselines, fell by 57%. The merit-nt signal, an aggregate connectivity proxy based on backscatter measurements, recorded a 59% drop from its peak.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation window.
