Burkina Faso experienced a significant internet connectivity disruption on Sunday, July 13, affecting both network reachability and routing stability. The event began around 10:50 UTC and lasted for approximately one hour and forty minutes, with full restoration observed by 12:30 UTC.

The disruption registered a total severity score of 907,059. Two key network measurement signals were impacted. The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes, recorded a severity score of 2,482, indicating a substantial drop in active probe responses. The bgp signal, which monitors control plane visibility for network prefixes, recorded a severity score of 533, reflecting instability in Border Gateway Protocol announcements.

During the event, the gtr-norm signal, a normalized measure of traffic volume, dropped by 45% from its peak. The merit-nt signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity based on backscatter measurements, fell by 56% from its peak. The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation period.
