Technical Details

The disruption was centered on the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), which governs how traffic is routed between networks globally. The BGP signal recorded a severity score of 264 during the event. This signal measures the control plane visibility for network prefixes. Other connectivity metrics, including active probing for reachability across IPv4 address blocks and backscatter traffic measurements, showed minor fluctuations but no significant concurrent degradation. The cause has not been publicly attributed.
