Turkmenistan experienced a degradation in internet connectivity on August 7, 2026. The disruption was observed between approximately 11:40 and 12:30 UTC. The primary impact was seen in active network reachability measurements.

Technical Details

The event recorded a severity score of 1,098. The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 network prefixes, showed a median drop of 23% from its peak value. The merit-nt signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity, recorded a more significant drop of 85% from its peak. The country’s Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane, which advertises network routes, remained stable throughout the observation period.

The cause has not been publicly attributed. Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation window.
