Tunisia experienced a significant internet connectivity disruption beginning on August 31 and lasting for more than 15 hours. The degradation, which started around 09:20 UTC, was primarily observed in active network reachability measurements. Connectivity was reported restored by 00:30 UTC on September 1.

Technical Details

The disruption recorded a severity score of 18,399. The primary affected signal was ping-slash24, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 network prefixes. This signal showed a 3% drop from its peak value during the event.

Other network telemetry showed varied impacts. The gtr signal, a forecast deviation from expected traffic, dropped 28% from its peak. The merit-nt backscatter measurement, an aggregate connectivity proxy, fell by 15%. Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane visibility remained stable, showing no observable drop.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.
