Indonesia experienced a significant degradation in internet connectivity on Tuesday, September 2, 2026. The disruption began at approximately 13:40 UTC and persisted for nearly three hours, with a primary impact on network reachability. The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Technical Details

The connectivity event recorded a severity score of 4,067, with the most pronounced impact observed on the ping-slash24 signal. This signal measures ICMP reachability across active IPv4 network prefixes. The signal’s median value dropped by 52% from its peak during the event, indicating a substantial reduction in successful network probes.

Other network telemetry showed mixed results. The BGP control plane, which manages the global routing table, remained stable with no significant prefix withdrawal observed. However, aggregate traffic volume, as measured by the gtr-norm signal, fell by 73% from its peak, suggesting a major drop in observable data flow. The disruption remained ongoing at last observation.
