Chad experienced a partial internet connectivity disruption in the early hours of July 31, 2026. The event, which primarily affected the network control plane, began at 03:25 UTC and lasted for approximately one hour and five minutes. The disruption remained ongoing at last observation.
Technical Details
The disruption recorded a severity score of 223. The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) signal, which measures the visibility of network routes in the global control plane, showed a median visibility drop of 3% from its peak. Active probing across IPv4 /24 prefixes, which measures ICMP reachability to end networks, showed an 18% drop in reachability. Traffic volume, as measured by a normalized signal, fell by 90% from its peak during the observation window. The cause has not been publicly attributed.
