Dominica Experiences Connectivity Disruption Lasting 1.5 Hours

alert2blue

Dominica experienced a significant internet connectivity disruption on June 10, 2026. The event lasted approximately one and a half hours, beginning at 16:50 UTC and ending at 18:20 UTC. The degradation was most pronounced in a key reachability metric, which recorded a severity score of 2,618.

Technical Details

The primary affected signal was ping-slash24, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes. This metric showed a 34% drop from its peak value during the observation window. The country’s Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane, which advertises network paths, remained stable with no observed withdrawal activity. Other traffic and connectivity proxies, including the gtr.sarima forecast model and backscatter measurements, also registered deviations from their expected baselines.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation period.
