The disruption began at approximately 18:35 UTC on July 14 and persisted until 00:30 UTC on July 25, a duration of 10.2 days. The event recorded a severity score of 36,888. The primary affected metric was the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) signal, which measures the control plane visibility and routing stability of a country’s internet prefixes. A drop in this signal indicates a reduction in the number of network routes being globally advertised.
Other network health indicators showed concurrent declines. The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 address blocks, recorded a 5% drop from its peak. The gtr-norm signal, a normalized measure of internet traffic volume, showed a more substantial 21% decline from its observed peak during the period.
