Technical Details
The disruption impacted two primary network measurement signals. The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes, recorded a severity score of 7,207. The bgp signal, which reflects control plane visibility for network prefixes, recorded a severity score of 1,127. During the event, the ping-slash24 signal showed a 23% drop from its peak measurement, while the bgp signal dropped by 4%.
Other observed metrics included a 21% drop in the gtr traffic signal and a 55% drop in the merit-nt backscatter measurement, an aggregate connectivity proxy. The cause has not been publicly attributed.
Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation period.
