Technical Details
The event recorded a severity score of 226,868. The BGP signal, which measures the control plane visibility of a country’s network prefixes to the global internet, showed a sustained anomaly. The Merit Network Telescope (merit-nt) signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity based on backscatter traffic, recorded a complete drop in observed activity. The gtr-norm signal, which measures deviation from expected traffic baselines, showed a 48% drop from its peak. Other signals, including active probing for IPv4 reachability (ping-slash24), showed more minor fluctuations.
The cause has not been publicly attributed.
Network routing appeared stabilized by the end of the observation period.
