Iraq experienced a brief but significant degradation in internet connectivity early Tuesday. The disruption occurred between 03:30 and 04:20 UTC on July 1, 2026, with a primary impact on network reachability.

Technical Details

The event registered a severity score of 3,449. The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 network blocks, showed a 71% drop from its peak, falling to a minimum of 259 responsive blocks. The BGP control plane signal, indicating routing visibility for network prefixes, recorded an 18% decline. Backscatter measurements from the Merit Network Telescope also indicated a 71% drop in aggregate connectivity traffic.
