Côte d’Ivoire experienced a significant connectivity degradation beginning early on July 1, 2026, lasting for nearly 24 hours. The disruption primarily affected active network reachability, with a severity score of 30,311 recorded during the event.

Technical Details

The degradation was observed between 00:40 UTC on July 1 and 00:30 UTC on July 2. The primary affected metric was the ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes. The severity score for this signal was 30,311.

Other network signals showed varying impacts. The gtr-norm signal, which tracks deviation from an expected traffic baseline, recorded a drop of 35% from its peak. The merit-nt signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity based on backscatter measurements, showed a 52% drop from its peak. The bgp signal, representing control plane visibility for prefixes, remained stable throughout the period.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation window.
