Technical Details

The disruption registered a severity score of 55, with the primary impact observed on the BGP signal. This signal measures the stability and visibility of routing announcements for the country’s IP address prefixes on the global internet. The BGP median value recorded a 1% drop from its peak during the observation window from 10:30 to 16:30 UTC.

Other network telemetry showed less pronounced effects. The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 address blocks, showed a 4% drop. The Merit Network Telescope (merit-nt) backscatter measurement, a proxy for overall network activity, recorded a more significant 68% drop from its peak. The cause has not been publicly attributed.
