Technical Details
The disruption recorded a severity score of 33,288, primarily driven by a sustained anomaly in the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) signal. BGP, which governs the exchange of routing information between networks, showed a median prefix count of 148 throughout the event, indicating a persistent reduction in the global visibility of the territory’s network prefixes.
Other measurement signals showed varying impacts. The gtr-norm signal, a normalized measure of traffic flow, dropped by 78% from its peak. The merit-nt signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity based on backscatter analysis, fell to zero, indicating a complete loss of measurable background traffic. Active probing for ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes (ping-slash24) showed a more modest 5% decline from peak levels.
The cause has not been publicly attributed.
Connectivity was reported restored at the end of the observation period.
