Belize experienced a significant, multi-day degradation in internet connectivity beginning June 18. The disruption, which lasted approximately 1.8 days, was characterized by a sharp decline in network reachability.
Technical Details
The event recorded a severity score of 72,698. The primary affected metric was the ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 network prefixes. This signal showed a 9% drop from its peak reachability level.
Other network health indicators also showed deviations. The gtr.sarima signal, which forecasts deviations from expected traffic baselines, recorded a 30% drop from its peak. The merit-nt signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity, fell by 50% from its observed maximum. The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane signal, which reflects routing visibility for network prefixes, remained stable throughout the event.
