Indonesia experienced intermittent connectivity disruptions beginning on September 2, 2026, with three distinct periods of degraded performance observed over nearly six hours. The primary impact was on network reachability, with the most significant degradation recorded between 18:50 and 19:20 UTC.

Technical Details

The disruption was characterized by three separate degradation periods between 18:50 UTC on September 2 and 00:30 UTC on September 3, lasting approximately 5.7 hours in total. The event registered an aggregate severity score of 1,381.

The most affected metric was the ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 network prefixes. This signal recorded a severity score of 1,962, with reachability dropping by up to 39% from its peak during the event. The gtr-norm signal, a normalized measure of traffic flow, showed a 65% drop from its peak. Backscatter measurements from the ucsd-nt signal indicated a 25% reduction in aggregate connectivity. Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane visibility remained stable throughout the event, showing no significant drop.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored by 00:30 UTC on September 3.
