Technical Details
The disruption period extended from 21:25 UTC on July 30 to 00:30 UTC on August 10. The primary affected metric was the BGP median signal, which recorded a severity score of 16,621. This signal measures the visibility of network routing prefixes in the global control plane. While the BGP prefix count remained stable at 347, other traffic and connectivity proxies showed substantial declines. The gtr-norm signal, which measures deviation from an expected traffic baseline, fell 67% from its peak. The merit-nt signal, an aggregate connectivity proxy based on backscatter measurements, dropped 53% from its peak. The ping-slash24 signal, measuring ICMP reachability across IPv4 network blocks, showed a more modest 4% decline.
The cause has not been publicly attributed.
Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation window.
