Technical Details
The disruption recorded a severity score of 870, with the primary impact on the BGP control plane. The BGP signal, which measures the visibility of a country’s internet routing prefixes to the global network, showed a 45% drop from its peak during the event. Concurrently, a 34% drop was observed in normalized internet traffic volume. Active probing for IPv4 reachability also indicated a 21% reduction in available network prefixes from Nauru during the same window.
The cause has not been publicly attributed.
Connectivity was reported restored following the 20-minute disruption.
