Tunisia experienced a significant internet connectivity degradation lasting over 13 hours. The disruption began at 10:50 UTC on September 2 and concluded at 00:30 UTC on September 3. The event registered a severity score of 16,634, with the primary impact observed on network reachability.

Technical Details

The ping-slash24 signal, which measures ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes, recorded a severity score of 16,634. The signal showed a 3% drop from its peak during the observation window. The gtr.sarima signal, which tracks deviations from expected traffic baselines, recorded 13 measurement points. The merit-nt signal, a proxy for aggregate connectivity based on backscatter measurements, showed a 30% drop from its peak. The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane, which advertises network reachability, remained stable throughout the event with no observed drop in prefix visibility.

The cause has not been publicly attributed.

Connectivity was reported restored by the end of the observation period.
