The primary affected metric was the ICMP reachability across IPv4 /24 prefixes, which recorded a severity score of 17,032. This signal measures the success rate of active probes to network blocks and serves as a key indicator of end-user connectivity. The degradation represented a 4% drop from the observed peak reachability levels during the measurement period.
Other network signals showed varying impacts. Backscatter measurements, which serve as a proxy for aggregate connectivity, showed a more pronounced drop of 29% from peak. Traffic volume also deviated from its expected baseline, registering a 23% decline from its observed peak. The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control plane, responsible for routing announcements between networks, remained stable throughout the event, showing no observable drop in prefix visibility.
The cause has not been publicly attributed. The disruption remained ongoing at the final observation time.
